Returns Policy

All non defective products must be returned within 7 business days and have a return merchandise authorization (RMA) before any return is accepted. A return merchandise authorization form can be accessed by clicking here.  Once completed and accepted a RMA will be issued.  Please follow the shipping steps below.   Purchaser/customer is required to pay for all shipping costs associated with warranty - authorization requests.  (If drop-off - pick-up not available).

Credits and exchanges are available to all products purchased from batteryspecialist.ca. Refunds may be issued when applicable.

For effective and efficient handling of returns, please note the following:
1. All returns must have a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
2. Items without a RMA will be refused and returned to sender.
3. RMA numbers must be clearly displayed on return packages. Please do not mark merchandise.
4. All products must be in original condition and contain undamaged product and serial numbers.
5. All products must be accompanied with original manuals, accessories, and content information intact.

All non-defective products will be charged a restocking fee of 25% of the original purchase price. Original shipping costs are not refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the claimant. Exceptions may apply.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

Shipping

Battery Specialist is committed to providing our customers with a carrier that is reliable and fast. We use FedEx, GLS, or Canada Post  for all our shipments. By using a reliable carrier such as FedEx or Canada Post we are able to provide our customers with the latest tracking information so that every package we ship can be traced to their exact location at anytime prior to delivery.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

On Display To Order (ODO) Shipping and Return Policy

Shipping Policy (ODO)

Thank you for visiting and shopping at Battery Specialist Canada. Following are the terms and conditions that constitute our On Display to Order (ODO) Shipping Policy.  ODO refers to products that are special order and not in stock and need to be ordered in.

All orders are processed within 1-2 business days.  Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays.  If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.

When placing your order the product page will have the estimated delivery time listed on the product page by "availability" which is usually 1-2 weeks from order date.  You will be contacted by a customer service representative to go over the details of the order and the estimated arrival date of the product you ordered.

The shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout.  Please also note that the shipping rates for all items we sell are weight-based and size based.  We use FedEx, GLS, or Canada Post  for all our ground shipments. If you order cannot ship using ground service due to weight or size of the item then LTL transport will be used.  Shipping charges will still be calculated and displayed at checkout.  A customer service representative will contact with the shipping details.

Warranty

 Battery Specialist provides a limited manufacturer warranty to the original owner (you) of our batteries against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of original purchase:

 SLA Batteries - Twelve (12) month limited warranty.  Click here.  Purchaser/customer is required to pay for all shipping costs associated with warranty - authorization requests.  (If drop-off - pick-up not available).

 All Other Products - Thirty (30) days limited warranty.  Purchaser/customer is required to pay for all shipping costs associated with warranty - authorization requests.  (If drop-off - pick-up not available).

Progressive Dynamics

1. LIMITED WARRANTY: Progressive Dynamics, Inc. warrants its products to be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use and service; and limits the remedies to repair or replacement.

2. DURATION:This warranty is valid only within North America and shall extend from the original date of retail purchase for the period specified below.

  • Marine Battery Chargers: 2 Years
  • RV Power Converters: 2 Years
  • Distribution Panels: 2 Years
  • Transfer Relays:  2 Years

3. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS: This warranty specifically does not apply to:

A. Any product which has been repaired or altered in any way by an unauthorized person or service station;
B. Damage caused by excessive input voltage, misuse, negligence or accident; or an external force;
C. Any product which has been connected, installed or adjusted or used other than in accordance with the instructions furnished, or has had the serial number altered, defaced or removed;
D. Cost of all services performed in removing and reinstalling the product; and
E. ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOSS OF USE OF ENJOYMENT OR OTHER INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE PRODUCT. THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES TO PROPERTY AND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

4. PROOF OF PURCHASE:A warranty claim must be accompanied by proof of the date of purchase. This may be in the form of a dealer Bill-of-Sale/Invoice, store receipt, or new vehicle title. No prior registration of the converter is necessary to start the standard warranty.

5. CLAIM PROCEDURE: CLAIM PROCEDURE: Upon discovery of any defect, Progressive Dynamics, Inc. shall be supplied the following information by mail, telephone, fax or email.

Name and address of the claimant;
B. Name and model of the product;
C.Date of purchase; and
D. Complete description of the claimed defect.
E. Recreational Vehicles: Name, year, and model of vehicle in which product was installed.
F. Marine Craft: Name, year, and model of craft in which product was installed.

Upon determination that a warranty claim exists (a defect in material or workmanship occurring under normal use and service,) the product shall be repaired or replaced.

End User Limited Warranty

This end-user international limited warranty is extended by Battery Specialist, to the original purchaser of any Battery Specialist product accompanied by this warranty and is not transferable. The warranty on the replacement product will be a continuation of the original product's warranty and will only be valid from the date of the original purchase.

Battery Specialist limited warranty shall be to solely repair or replace, at Battery Specialist option, the defective Battery Specialist product or any electronic device damaged by such Battery Specialist product, under normal consumer use. Repair or replacement will be made, provided that you are the original owner of the product, have completed the Product Registration Form within 30 days from the date purchase, and you have contacted the Battery Specialist RMA department.

*NOTE: The capacity of all rechargeable batteries will decline over time depending on the use and charging/discharging process. This is considered normal and therefore, a reduction in battery capacity is not covered under warranty. The battery is only warranted from defects in material or workmanship resulting in failures. Reduced runtime is not warranted and will vary depending on the power management settings and configurations that are set as well as the number of times the battery has been charged and discharged. Please be advised that rechargeable batteries are considered 'consumable products' and warranty coverage is limited.
